I am Polish, my husband is from India. We have been married for three years, my husband got a tourist visa to come to Poland. What should we do so that he can get the right to remain in Poland? What are the requirements?
The spouse of a Polish citizen has the possibility of applying for a temporary residency permit in Poland (permission to remain for a specified period of time). The permit is issued for a period of up to two years, with the possibility of extension.
You can find information about the required documents in the attached link – it leads to the website of the Mazowieckie Voivodship Office (Polish only). The information is valid for the whole country. An application for the residency permit should be made in the Voivodship office appropriate to your place of residence.

Migration Helpline (Infolinia Migracyjna) is now run thanks to voluntary work of PFM staff. Before, it was maintained (2012-2014) thanks to co-financing of the project Information Center for Foreigners 2, run by PFM in partnership with the Association for Legal Intervention and the Mazovian Governor. It is co-financed by the European Fund for Integration of Third Country Nationals and by the state budget.
In the years 2009-2011 the project was run as part of Information Center for Foreigners run by the same partnership, also co-financed by the European Fund for Integration of Third Country Nationals and by the state budget.
