Project description

Migroteka - is a project developed by the Polish Migration Forum to improve awareness on refugees and migrants in Poland. This is done through establishment of twelve library collections on asylum and migration in Polish cities.

Project goals

Until now, access to quality literature on asylum has been difficult to Polish readers. Making it possible for students and professionals to reach migration-related reading, PFM wants to improve their knowledge and in result - their attitude to refugees and migrants.

Activities

The activities include identification of libraries to host the asylum/migration collection of Migroteka, collection and purchase of books and distribution of books to the selected libraries.

The project also envisions gathering and promotion of internet-based sources of information and reading on migration and asylum. The guide on migration-related sources available online will be published and distribute to participating libraries and to the network of organizations and institutions dealing with migration and refugee issues throughout Poland.

Currently, the collections of Migroteka are available in the following cities:

  • Białystok
  • Biała Podlaska
  • Katowice
  • Kraków
  • Poznań
  • Rzeszów
  • Szczecin
  • Warszawa (Ochota)
