Japanese calligraphy, or SHODŌ, has been cultivated in Japan for centuries. It is still practiced and applied in many everyday situations and taught in schools. Those who practice calligraphy consider it a way to calm down, focus, and slow down in the daily grind. Calligraphy, as one of the traditional Japanese arts, also allows one to experience the Japanese “philosophy of the way,” known as DŌ.

We offer workshops led by Julia Caba, who teaches Japanese language and culture at the EIPONI language school, the Primary School in Stara Wieś, and the Academic High School at PJATK. These workshops invite you to relax, meditate, or express yourself artistically using Japanese brushes and ink.

Due to the fact that you will be working with black ink, dark, preferably black clothes are recommended.
