One of the key areas of activity at the Polish Migration Forum Foundation is providing psychological support to migrants and engaging in intercultural psychology initiatives.

Our Activities

Our goal is to provide psychological assistance at the highest level, with the greatest accessibility, in the language that the person needing support is most comfortable with. We strive to ensure that the entire support system for refugees and migrants in Poland takes into account the psychosocial conditions associated with migration, such as stress, trauma, and challenges related to adaptation. We are committed to ensuring that all services place the dignity of their recipients at the forefront. We offer:

  • Short and long-term therapy for adults, teenagers, and children
  • Training and webinars on supporting children after traumatic experiences, specifics of working with refugees, supporting intercultural integration processes, and intercultural competencies
  • Support groups and workshops for adults, youth, and children
  • Parenting skills training
  • HELPLINE PFM, available in 5 languages
  • Work with individuals who have experienced trauma, including torture survivors
  • Conducting assessments and writing psychological opinions
  • Providing psychological support in Polish, Ukrainian, Russian, Belarusian, English, French, Spanish, Dari, Arabic, Farsi, Sorani, Turkish, and other languages

In 2023, there were 7,737 psychological consultations, including 2,234 for children and youth.

Dedicated publications

We publish our own books and practical materials for working with children, youth, or adults.

The latest publication is the highly popular “Resource and Goals Cards” by Marta Piegat-Kaczmarczyk, which are a simple and very effective tool for supporting children and youth in crisis situations. The cards are useful in the process of identifying and strengthening resources, setting therapeutic goals, dealing with the current crisis, or traumatic memories. They are intended for psychologists, psychotherapists, teachers, parents. Thanks to the cooperation of many people from the Polish Migration Forum team, the cards are currently available in four language versions: Polish, Ukrainian, English, and Russian.

All publications are available in online versions. Below you can download free PDFs:
