About the Project:

Teaching Polish – Let’s talk– is a language tandem project where Polish–speaking individuals teach migrants Polish. Participants meet at least once a week for a minimum of three months. Recently, volunteers have also started teaching other languages, mainly English, which is in high demand, as well as Spanish and Italian. Classes under the Let’s talk project are mostly conducted online (with volunteers participating from across Poland and even Poles living abroad), but pairs living in the same city have the option to meet in local libraries, community centers, or, in Warsaw, at the PFM headquarters.

Each volunteer dedicates about 10 hours per month, including preparation time for the meetings.

The project involves individuals with migration and refugee experiences from over 20 countries. Some participants, as part of an exchange, teach their native languages to the volunteers supporting them, though this is not required.
