Project description

More Equal Europe Together. Preventing islamophobia against women and girls

Project goals

  • To prevent islamophobia against women and girls in Europe
  • To foster dialogue and coalition building among communities in Europe
  • To encourage youth critical thinking in order to promote independent counter-narratives, new ideas and initiatives
  • To activate youth as Equity Defenders against racism and discrimination

Activities

  • Setting up of Local Observatories on Islamophobia;
  • promoting activities to foster dialogue and social cohesion;
  • implementing Education Debate activities on the subjects of discrimination and islamophobia;
  • developing counter narrative (anti-discrimination) national campaign focused on countering the stereotypes of Muslim women and girls in the society.

Results

The action shall results in an increased capacity of national and local authorities, civil society organizations and communities to address issues related to islamophobia in Poland. It should also increase awareness of the negative impact of islamophobia among the general public. Effective prevention measures addressing manifestations of islamophobia will be implemented with youth.
