A series of meetings and a choir theater workshop

WE INVITE YOU TO A SERIES OF MEETINGS AND A CHORUS THEATER WORKSHOP WITH DIRECTOR MARTA GÓRNICKA
Meetings and work will be focused around the concept of the text of the play, which will be created at Teatr Dramatyczny in June 2023 with the participation of mothers from Ukraine, Belarus and Poland.

In Górnicka’s performances and social projects, the chorus functions as a metonymy of the community, exposing its tensions, revealing the mechanisms of exclusion and consolidation of the community, telling about its relations of power and domination. At the same time, however, choir performances are always a real community experience, they open access to source rituals and unifying practices at the level of breath, voices and bodies of performers and the audience. Thus, they have both a critical potential and the power of a renewed ritual – they are a living laboratory for researching and creating a community.
the meeting is conducted in Polish, but active speech skills in Polish are not required.
