Meeting group for mothers 

If you have recently given birth to a child and are looking for contact with other mothers – please join our meeting group. 

During weekly meetings, we will create a common space, full of acceptance, support and inspiration so much needed by women in their new role.

We will offer you the following meeting topics:

  • Integration of mother and child in Poland.
  • How to find yourself with a toddler in Warsaw.
  • Useful telephone numbers and addresses
  • Childbirth history. Expectations and reality.
  • What helps? Mother regeneration.
  • How long does a childbirth really last?
  • Development of a little person (constant topic + invitation from a physiotherapist, preparation of questions)
  • Feeding, sleeping, the rhythm of the day with the child.
  • Dealing with the child with difficult emotions.
  • When and to whom for psychological help
  • Working with your own childhood experience, use it as a resource.
  • New life roles, family adaptation.
  • Building psychological boundaries and “good advice”.
  • Return to work and professional activity many others that will be important to you

The meetings are conducted by – Anfisa Yakovina – a psychologist specializing in the socio-cultural adaptation of migrants, has a certificate of perinatal psychologist (psychological support for families during conception, pregnancy and childbirth), conducted research in the United States and Poland. Currently, she gives psychological consultations to migrants in Warsaw, helps to prepare for childbirth in the birth school and supports mothers after the birth of a toddler.
Activities for pregnant women, young mothers and children with the experience of refugee and migration are carried out by the Polish Migration Forum Foundation with the support of CARE International.
