The Academy of Migrant Arts is a series of creative workshops featuring traditional crafts from different corners of the world. Each session is led by people with migration experience who now live in Poland.
This time, together with Pascalia H. Nyamita, we will immerse ourselves in the vibrant world of kitenge – African fabrics known for their vivid colours and unique patterns. Under Pascalia’s guidance, we will design and hand-paint fabric tote bags inspired by the colours and symbolism of Kenyan design.
The workshop will be led by Pascalia H. Nyamita, a gender equality specialist from Mombasa, Kenya, now living in Poland. She hosts a show on IMI Radio, sharing migrant stories and voices. Guided by the spirit of Ubuntu, she believes in connection, community, and storytelling for change.
The workshop will be conducted in English, with the possibility of translation into Polish. We welcome participants from all over the world – we’ll find a way to communicate!
