The Polish Migration Forum Foundation invites young people aged 14-17 to participate in a social campaign and professional film workshops. We invite you to join the international project – let’s work together for a tolerant Europe!
WHAT DO WE OFFER?
16-hour free weekend workshops with filmmakers-practitioners, during which young people will learn to create short documentary film forms, write scripts, compose frames, operate film equipment. The subject of the films will be the narratives of Muslim women living in Poland, and our goal – to counteract religious discrimination. Classes will be held in direct contact, in the sanitary regime (note – not online!). Project participants will receive a certificate confirming their commitment to an international anti-discrimination campaign.
PARTICIPANT PROFILE:
– youth aged 14-17
– interested in film and journalism
– open to meetings with new people
WORKSHOP PROGRAM:
Day 1 – 15/05, hours. 09.00 a.m. – 4.00 p.m.
• Cultural introduction: about Islam and Muslims in Poland
• Film introduction – how to plan a script, how to construct questions for the heroines, shots – we look through the camera’s eye
• Getting to know the heroines about whom the group will film – Muslim women living in Poland
Day 2 – 16/05 at 09.00-12.00 or 13.00-16.00
• We divide into two groups. Group 1 has photos from 10.00 to 13.00. Group 2 takes photos between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
• Work on film scripts
• Selection of scenarios that will be realized within 2 subgroups
• Sound recordings (voice-over)
• Image recordings (outdoor)
Workshop place:
15/05: The Ukrainian House in Warsaw, ul. Zamenhofa 1, Warsaw
16/05: the photos will be shot in locations in Warsaw, which we will set on the previous day (locations depend on the film’s script).
OTHER ESSENTIAL INFORMATION:
Participation in the project is free of charge. The condition for participation is the consent of the parent / guardian of the participant to the processing and sharing of the image of the child / ward.
EUROPEAN CAMPAIGN
The footage prepared by young people will be included in the European social campaign on Muslim women. Movie spots will be available in Poland, Italy, France, Belgium and Bulgaria. The campaign will be available on FB.
