Schools in Poland are becoming increasingly culturally and linguistically diverse. This is a process that will continue, which is why we are committed to fostering attitudes of openness, mutual kindness and cooperation among children from an early age. We are working to make the Polish school a friendly place for everyone, regardless of their background.

Among the PMF’s publications and educational materials, you will find a welcome packet that can be used at the beginning of a new school year to give to parents of children with migration experience.

The pack contains, among other things:

  • a calendar for the school year (days off, holidays, summer breaks),
  • an explanation of how the school structure works (e.g. who is the intercultural assistant, what is the parents’ council, the day-care centre, the class triangle),
  • grading rules,
  • information on what the child should bring to school,
  • information on how to use electronic diaries such as Vulcan or Librus,
  • useful links and resources.

There is also space in the welcome pack for school staff to fill in, e.g. important contacts, details of a particular school or class, sample documents and forms.
