Good practices collected during the implementation of the project “Welcome Neighbor. Integration of the local community in Marki, Izabelin and Podkowa Leśna”. The project was implemented from 31.12.2021 to 31.12.2023.
The project Welcome Neighbor! was launched even before Poles began “welcoming neighbors” on a large scale in February 2022. The unprecedented assistance to Ukrainian women and men fleeing the war, for many months to come, came as a huge surprise to the refugees, but also to all of us – those who have lived in safe Poland for a long time, forever, or for some time.
The outbreak of war radically changed the needs of local communities. Many new meeting places were created spontaneously, the number of visitors and guests from Ukraine increased dramatically, many residents actively joined in various activities. Thanks to the project we were able to accompany municipalities in their search for answers to change.
