Strengthening the competencies of intercultural assistants working in Warsaw schools.
Project goals
- support of a minimum of 8 Warsaw schools by employing a total of 5 perfectly prepared for work intercultural assistants (2 persons for 10 months, 1 person for 8 months and 2 persons for 6 months)
- a system of in-house training for the assistants
- regular supervision support for assistants
- raising the professional competencies of 25 intercultural assistants, those working as teacher’s aides during a 2-day residential course “How to support children with migration experience in a Polish school”
- raising the competencies of 25 intercultural assistants and those working as teacher’s aides to work with children with migration and refugee experience during the 3-day residential course “Kids’Skills method in the work of intercultural assistant”
- improving the competence of 25 intercultural assistants and those working as teacher’s aides to work with children with experience of trauma – workshop “Supporting children after traumatic experiences through TSR, creativity and play”.
Activities
Implementation of in-house trainings to improve the competencies of assistants employed by the Ppm and providing them with access to supervision.
Results
Support of students with migration experience in the form of comprehensive assistance at school, which will allow children to feel safe and find their way in the new reality. Intercultural aystenture is also a support for the entire school community, as well as parents of migrant children.
