St. Andrew’s Eve is an evening of fortune-telling held on the night of 29 to 30 November, the eve before St. Andrew’s Day. St. Andrew’s celebrations have a very long tradition in Poland – the first references to them date back to the 16th century!

St. Andrew’s Day was the last opportunity to have fun before the beginning of the Advent season, during which people traditionally refrained from partying. It used to be that fortune-telling was taken more seriously. It was believed, for example, that with their help one could find out which of the ladies would be the first to marry. Today, we recognise fortune-telling as part of our tradition, but above all, it is simply an opportunity to have fun.

Come to the BAZA to read the fortune and have fun with us!
