The aim of the webinar is to provide knowledge and specific tools to support children with experience of migration / refugee in the development of language competences. These students use more than one language on a daily basis and need support in learning Polish.
Multilingualism and multiculturalism in the classroom provide great added value. At the same time, they also pose many challenges for the teacher, parents and the students themselves. It is important that the intercultural assistant wisely and thoughtfully supports the child, his parents and teachers in the development of sustainable multilingualism and in learning Polish.
During the webinar:
the challenges posed by multilingualism will be analyzed, but also the potential it brings, issues related to supporting the linguistic development of multilingual children will be discussed, methods of identifying children who may need special support and attention from the educator and how to provide this support, participants will learn about the proprietary support tool learning Polish in children with migration experience – “Diary – glossary” (the concept of the material and the publication were created a few years ago as part of one of the projects co-financed by the Warsaw City Hall). his parents and teachers in the development of sustainable multilingualism and in learning Polish.
The webinar will be conducted by Zuzanna Rejmer, an intercultural psychologist and PFM trainer. Duration: 1.5 hours of lecture and group work and 0.5 hours for discussion and summary of the meeting.
Zuzanna Rejmer – intercultural psychologist, trainer and consultant in the field of social skills and intercultural competences, board member of the Polish Migration Forum Foundation. Since 2004, she has been working with people from different cultures – she supports young and adult Poles and foreigners in getting to know each other and drawing on cultural differences. He conducts individual consultations, workshops and development training.
