Integration of forced migrants in Poland

Projekt: I am a Mom in Poland

Description:

A project for migrants moms, who are expecting in Poland. Activities also planned for medical personel - on how to work with migrant patients.

Objectives:

The aim of the project is to help women prepare for labour and care of a new born baby in Poland. We work with young mothers, as well as medical staff - to prepare them for the needs of migrant mothers.

Actions:

  • three editions of Multicultural Schools of Birth, involving a hospital visit
  • two editions of 2-day multicultural workshops for Polish midwifes.

Results:

Multicultural Schools of Birth will be available for at least 30 women (Ukrainian, Vietnamese and of other nationalities).

About 40 midwifes will participate in multicultural workshops.

Two publications will be produced:

  • a leaflet for Polish medical staff on assisting women from another culture,
  • a brochure on labour and delivery in Poland. The brochure includes chapters on care of a new born.
