Hi, I have karta pobytu (valid till March 2015) and a D visa on my passport (valid till 30th jan 2015) , can i travel to other schengen countries ? or do i have to apply for tourist visa to travel to for example holland ?
Hello - this is a strange situation - that you hold both a visa and a 'karta pobytu'. You should only hold on of those.
Still, both documents give you the right to travel visa-free to other Schengen countries, for three months within six months, only for tourist purposes. You have this right untill you residence card or visa expire (so, in practice, till March).
If you travel with the residence card - you need to have the valid passport with you as well.

Migration Helpline (Infolinia Migracyjna) is now run thanks to voluntary work of PFM staff. Before, it was maintained (2012-2014) thanks to co-financing of the project Information Center for Foreigners 2, run by PFM in partnership with the Association for Legal Intervention and the Mazovian Governor. It is co-financed by the European Fund for Integration of Third Country Nationals and by the state budget.
In the years 2009-2011 the project was run as part of Information Center for Foreigners run by the same partnership, also co-financed by the European Fund for Integration of Third Country Nationals and by the state budget.
